Dr. Eyase is an Assistant Principal Research Scientist, Center for Virus Research, KEMRI since March 2022. Dr. Eyase worked at the USAMRD-A Malaria Drug Resistance program for 12 years before moving on to manage the KEMRI/USAMRD-A Hemorrhagic Fevers and arbovirology program in 2013. He worked at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture as a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Biotechnology Research between 2015 and 2022. Due to an MOU on research between KEMRI and JKUAT Dr. Eyase continued to support USAMRD-A projects taking advantage of the arrangement to mentor students at MSc. and PhD. Level. He has over 40 publications covering Malaria Drug Resistance, Arbovirology and Entomology. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nairobi, Master of Science and a PhD in Molecular biology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He also holds a certificate in Emerging Infectious Diseases Research from University of Florida College of Public Health and Health professions.
