Prof. Josephine Khaoma W. Ngaira is a distinguished scholar in Geography (Climatology) with a wealth of experience in both academic and leadership roles. She earned her PhD in Geography (Climatology) from Moi University in 1999, and holds an MA in Geography (Climatology) (1992) from the same institution, along with a B.Ed. from the University of Nairobi (1983).Currently, Prof. Ngaira is a Full Professor of Geography at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. She also serves as the Chairperson of the Professors Forum and the Chairperson of the International Geographic Union (IGU) Kenya Chapter. Her leadership extends beyond academia, having previously held significant administrative roles such as Dean of the School of Environment and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs at both Maseno University and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.Prof. Ngaira's academic journey includes positions as Associate Professor (2005-2008), Senior Lecturer (2002-2005), and Lecturer (1996-2001) in Geography (Climatology) at Maseno University. She also served as the Founding Director of the School of Environment and Earth Sciences (SEES) at Maseno University. She is a member of the Kenya National Academy of Sciences (KNAS)(FKNAS No: 160) and has made significant contributions to the field of climatology and environmental science in Kenya.
